Fall Paintball Season | October Paintball | Champion Valley

October 12, 2026 | By Maxine Denis

Look, we’re into October now. You’re thinking about winter, thinking about things winding down. But here’s what you’re missing: right now, this exact moment, is peak paintball season in Minnesota.

Not summer. Not spring. Fall.

And if you’ve been thinking about bringing your crew out but kept putting it off, you’re running out of time. Here’s why you should book this week.

The Temperature is Perfect

Summer paintball is brutal. You’re wearing a mask, you’re wearing gear, you’re running around in 85-degree heat. By the third game, you’re soaked. By the fourth, you’re done.

Fall is completely different. It’s 50-60 degrees. Maybe low 60s if it’s a warm day. You’re moving, you’re active, but you’re actually comfortable.

Your group isn’t overheating. People aren’t tapping out early because they’re exhausted. You can actually play multiple games back-to-back without someone melting.

That’s not a small thing. That’s the difference between a good day and a great day.

The Bugs Are Gone

Minnesota summer has mosquitoes. Lots of them. You’re playing and getting bit on your neck, your hands, your ankles. It’s annoying. It’s distracting. It’s gross.

We got our first freeze a few weeks ago. Guess what that means? Most of the bugs are done for the season. Your game doesn’t get interrupted by swatting at mosquitoes. You’re not worried about ticks in the tall grass. You’re not getting swarmed by gnats.

You can actually focus on the game instead of focus on not getting eaten alive.

You’re More Alert

There’s something about crisp fall air. You feel sharper. Your mind is clearer. You have more energy.

Compare that to July heat where your brain is just trying to keep you from passing out.

Fall weather makes you a better player. Better focus. Better positioning. Better decisions. It’s science-adjacent, at least.

The Scenery Actually Matters

Champion Valley is beautiful in fall. The trees are changing. The light is golden. There’s actually atmosphere to the experience.

Summer is green. Winter is gray. Fall is the one season where you show up and the whole place just looks right. It matters more than you think. People remember the day better. The pictures look better. The whole vibe is elevated.

It’s a small thing, but small things add up to great days.

You’re Not Exhausted Afterward

Summer paintball wipes people out. Heat exhaustion is real. By the time you finish, people just want to go home and sleep.

Fall? People actually want to hang out after. Grill some food. Sit around. Talk about the best shots. Maybe play another round.

That’s when the real bonding happens. When you’re not running on fumes and actually enjoying being there with your group.

But Here’s the Thing

Fall doesn’t last forever. It’s mid-October now. By early November, it gets real cold. By late November, it’s either snowing or too frozen to really enjoy being outside.

You’ve got a maybe three-to-four-week window where the conditions are absolutely perfect.

That window is closing.

What You Should Do

If you’ve been thinking about bringing your team, your friend group, your family, your bachelor party crew—now is the time. Not next month. Not next season. Now.

Spots are filling up for Attack on the Valley (our zombie paintball experience is running strong). Regular paintball slots are getting booked. The good weather window is real and it’s tightening.

You call, you pick a date in the next 3-4 weeks, and you lock it in. You show up when the weather is perfect, when you’re not getting eaten by bugs, when people actually want to stay and hang out after.

This is genuinely the best time of year to do this. Every person we’ve had out here in fall says the same thing: “Why don’t we do this more often? This was perfect.”

Because it IS perfect. Right now. This season.

Don’t Wait Until Spring

I know what happens. You think “oh, I’ll do it in the spring.” Spring comes, and suddenly it’s already getting warm. You book for May or June, and you’re back to the heat problem.

Or you wait until next fall, and you forget about it entirely until October rolls around again.

Do it now. This week. Next week. Lock it in while the weather is on your side.

You’ll thank us when you show up and realize we’re not exaggerating about how good fall paintball is.
